I have changed a lot over this past year. I feel like this year I have really desired to see God lead my life and I desired to be satisfied by him and him alone.

Before coming here I wish I would have known what exactly the year plan would look like. eg. Schedule, and the ministries available. The internet was different from what options were really available, eg.

working in an orphanage…when I came here I quickly found out that that wasn't even an option because the closest one is located 20 mins. away.

But no worries, the easiest thing to do is to drop any expectations and feel free to ask if you really want to find out what is really available.

The ministries that are available down here are as follows:

            A. there is a nursing home ministry which involves taking care of the elderly people in the home and loving on them.

            B. there is an English teaching ministry which is basically what it sounds like teaching English to people who want to learn and need to

learn.

            C. There have been sign language and guitar classes as well and other ministries are available to be initiated by you. (according to your specific gifting).

Housing in the girls house…Floors randomly get sticky and dusty, wear shoes around the house. In the room with three beds, the closet is full of mosquitoes. Back room gets the most bugs, middle room is the hottest, and the front from is always the most fun. Toilet leaks, and hair in the sinks are deadly. Have fun!-- Ali Hillabush

How is community living and what should you know? Community living is what you make it. To live in such close quarters with someone else means you will see the good and the bad. I have learned a lot about conflict management and to not let things fester. Be open. Be willing to serve and go. You need each other, quite literally, to get anywhere around here.

Flexibility is something that I've learned a lot too. Things change, plans change as well.
