I have heard a wise saying that goes something like this: When you get married you learn how selfish you are and when you have children you learn how impatient you are. Well I am here to tell you that moving to Kibera will show you both how selfish and impatient you are. People asking for things nonstop, and always coming over to the house never to give you a moments peace. Being an effective missionary sometimes takes a lot of planning and studying, but the nationals here don't seem to understand that. Many have nothing to do all day, so they come and use your time and think nothing of it since time is not important here. These things as well as many others have grown my patience and have helped me use the time I have wisely. Also, the tough situations with no rest have grown my dependency on God. Right now many of these things are getting very hard to deal with, but I can see how God is using them to grow me.
