I received this from Melissa Hintz on Wednesday, June 13.
I have a quick prayer request. I just got word that my Father has been admitted to the hospital. As soon as I'm done with this email I'm jumping in the car to make the 2 hour drive home. His leg is very swollen and he has a blood clot in it. They are working on making the blood clot disappear but they think the underlining problem has got to be his heart. He is very hard headed and doesn't like listen to the doctors. We had to fight him to even go to the hospital. He's had heart problems before and his health lately has just been really bad. I think he'll be okay but it's always a worry. He has only been in my life for a little over a year now; it would be very hard to lose him already. Please keep that in prayer.
Then on Saturday, June 16 she gave me this update:
My Dad is doing better but he's still got a long way to go. They have found that he has a staff and strep infection in his leg that had moved all the way up to his waist, thankfully they caught it before it made it to his chest or that could of killed him. But still it is a very serious infection, at the moment it is responding to the medicine but there is a chance it might change. On the upside all the tests on his heart and kidneys have come back looking pretty normal so at least it's not one of his organ's shutting down. There still is a possibility that there is a blood clot in his leg but with the infection so bad they can't tell yet. He is going to be in the hospital until early next week as far as I know right now. Thanks for your prayers. If this did anything good it did show him how much my brother, sister and I really care. I think we almost freak him out we care so much. And my sister's pastor came to see him twice in the hospital and he received him well and let him pray so that is a very big step for my Dad. But please keep him in your prayers that he stays on this path to recovery and nothing else happens.
Thanks for lifting Melissa up at this time. Please post your prayers and verses and let her know how much we care.
